MAN 5to "Prolog"

Maybee somebody don't want to build a complete truck of his own. Meanwhile it's possible to get a kit of a complete driveline.

This kit rests upon the MAN 5to from ROCO (Best.Nr 470). The car is large enough to build in the rc-system. Aside from it's a offroad truck. It's availible as a military truck, fireengine, "THW" technical maintenace, or as a very rar "Prolog" rally truck.

The driveline you can order at "Stöhrnet". Here are also some other kits availible. On your choice they ship the steering axle, driveline, raraxle, gear or all wheel drive.
But it's not like a "ready to run" kit. So you have to spend some days in assembling the parts.

The servo is a small GWS or Graupner. In the frame is a hole to buil in this servo.

Now you have to prepair the car body. It is atvisable to abrade the wheel-housing. So the front wheels don't touch here.
The speedcontroler I use is availible at mikroantriebe.de. You can also rebuild a servocontroler. If you want to do so, just replace the adjustible resistor in the servo. The new one has to be a 5 kiloohm adjustible resistor to adjust the o-point of the controler. This kind of speedcontroler isn't so delicate as the controler from mikroantribe.de. But it is very cheap and availible arround the world.
The reciver should be a very small one. For examble the Graupner xp8 or a small GWS is a good choice. And if you cut the plugs, so the space inside the car will be enough. Thats why it is better to solder the wire instead of using plugs.
The batterys choice is a question of space. Mostly 4 x 120mAh batterys are good for this car. It's enough energy for one hour fun.

You don't need a 4 wheel drive to have a trip offroad. But it is on your choice. The 4 wheel version is better for hill climbing. But it is a problem to steering small circles.

After a succesfull test, it's advisable to cut the wire and solder everyone in an optimal lenght. So the hull is suitabe. The antenna is shorted to 20cm and wind up to store under the hull.

And now it's time to build in the details. So I cut the mirrors, thank and the exhaust pipe out of the resgin kit and glue it on the truck.
